Rockstar mengungkapkan minggu ini bahwa GTA 6 akan dirilis di toko ritel sebagai code-in-a-box. Artinya, game tersebut tidak akan dirilis dalam bentuk disk sama sekali.
Para penggemar kesal dengan hal ini karena isu seputar kepemilikan video game, terutama terkait game digital. Namun perlu juga dicatat bahwa ini akan menjadi yang pertama GTA judul yang tidak masuk ke disk.
Namun sekali lagi, Graczdari baru-baru ini mengklaim bahwa GTA 6 akan dirilis pada bulan Desember ini. Salah satu penggemar diberitahu oleh Rockstar Support bahwa mereka akan dapat ‘memperoleh salinan fisiknya’ selama beberapa bulan berikutnya.
Hal ini menyebabkan Jake Randall membantah klaim ini di Twitter, dengan mengatakan:

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
